DEVIL’S LAKE ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

SO YOU’VE DECIDED THE BIG, TRADITIONAL WEDDING ISN’T FOR YOU.

And you want to tie the knot at the most beautiful park in Wisconsin. A day where you honor your love for each other by doing what you want, not what’s expected of you.

But first., what is an elopement?

An elopement is an intentionally planned day filled with love, adventure and what matters most to you and your partner.

WHY SHOULD YOU ELOPE AT DEVIL’S LAKE STATE PARK?

01.

it can just be the two of you.

It’s your day. You can choose who you want to be there to witness your commitment to each other. Less people present = more experiences for you to enjoy on your day.

02.

you can forget about formalities

Throw out the wedding planning rule book. If you want to elope on a Tuesday at the South Shore of Devil’s Lake State Park, you can. You don’t need a bouquet, a wedding dress, or tux. You just need your love for each other (and your marriage license).

03.

it’s friendly for the earth and your sanity

The average wedding produces 400 lbs of garbage and 63 tons of CO2 (Green Bride Guide). From un-eaten food to plastic beverage cups, to decor you are buying to only use once and then throw away. Elopements are much more earth friendly and allow you and your partner to embrace what the world has waiting for you. I’m also Leave No Trace certified!

04.

you get to go on an exciting adventure

How many people get to say their vows on top of pre-historic bluffs? You can have the most adventure-filled day while also saying “I do” to the love of your life.

IT’S ME. HI!

My husband and I eloped on a cold, snowy day in early April at one of our favorite places, Devil’s Lake, Wisconsin. It wasn’t always our plan to elope, but we talk all the time about how great of a decision it was for us.

We were able to spend our day intentionally with our favorite people. We got ready together in our home where we ate breakfast and drank coffee with family before heading to the lake. After our short and sweet ceremony officiated by a close friend, we took photos before heading to dinner back in Madison.

Along with our guests, we spent the evening drinking beer, telling stories and listening to vinyl records. It was truly the best day ever and there’s not a single thing we would do differently.

“Anya was absolutely wonderful! She was such a pleasure to work with. We got a sneak peek of our pictures that same day and I was blown away! She captured our love perfectly. She was organized, on time and got all the shots we wanted and then some! I highly recommend Anya!!!”
