Location
How to get to The Goodman Community Center
The Goodman Community Center is located right near the Atwood neighborhood at 214 Waubesa St., Madison, WI 53704.
- From East Washington Avenue: Turn left onto Oak Street. In 144 feet, turn right onto Milwaukee Street. In 0.2 miles, turn left onto Waubesa Street. Goodman Community Center’s Ironworks building will be on your left.
- From the Beltline: Take exit 265 for Monona Drive. Follow Monona Drive for 4 miles. Turn right onto Waubesa Street. The Goodman Community Center will be on your right.
If you’re not local, it’s best to fly in to Dane County Regional Airport. From the Airport: Follow International Lane until it ends. Turn left onto Packers Avenue, which becomes Pennsylvania Avenue. Stay here for 2 miles. Turn left onto Commercial Avenue and then right onto North Street. North Street will turn slightly left and become Milwaukee Street. Then turn right onto Waubesa Street and Goodman Community Center will be on your left.
If you’re up for a drive or bus ride, you can fly into Milwaukee General Mitchell Airport, which is about 90 minutes away. You can travel to downtown Madison via Badger Bus or Uber.
You can also easily fly into Chicago’s Midway Airport or Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. From there, take the Van Galder Bus to downtown Madison.
There is also an Amtrak Station in Columbus, Wisconsin, which is roughly 30 minutes from Downtown Madison via car.


Where to park
Goodman Community Center has two parking lots available for parking:
- The Ironworks Building: Next to the Iron works building is a large parking lot. Keep in mind there are some reserved spots for activites taking place at the Goodman Community Center
- The Brassworks Building: Parking is available directly behind the building. This is ideal for those setting up with decor and/or for the reception.
It’s recommended to travel via ride share apps like Uber or Lyft or book a shuttle service for guests. Eliminating parking struggles is always appreciated.

- Hilton Madison – If you want your guests to experience all of the things Madison has to offer, Hilton Madison is a great choice.
- AC Hotel Madison Downtown – Right off the Capitol square, the AC hotel is one of the most popular for events in Madison. There’s even a restaurant on the top floors which is sure to stun your guests!
- Madison Concourse Hotel – The Madison Concourse Hotel is perfect for those who want to stay close to all of the nightlife Madison has to offer.
- Best Western Premier Park Hotel – The Park hotel is close to some of Madison’s best restaurants and has gorgeous Capitol views!
- Embassy Suites by Hilton Madison Downtown – Just a short ride away from Goodman Community Center is the newly-opened Embassy Suites.
- The Edgewater Hotel – Located steps away from Lake Mendota with stunning sunset views, the Edgewater Hotel is an excellent option for you and your guests.

The Spaces
The Ironworks Building – Evjue + Merrill Lynch Rooms
Say your vows surrounded by exposed blonde brick walls and up to 144 guests. This is the perfect room for your ceremony, overlooking the Capitol City Bike Trail and Waubesa Street.


The Brassworks Building – Bea & Lau Christensen Rooms
With the ability to hold up to 216 guests, the Beau and Lau Chirstensen rooms combine to become the largest space available for rent. I highly recommend using this space for your reception. Featuring skylights, exposed brick, a colorful glass wall and other contemporary accents, it’s a perfect choice for dancing the night away.
