Stonehill's Farmhouse Fall Wedding in the Hudson Valley

Where to begin with these two and their luxurious Stonehill’s Farmhouse fall wedding in the hills of the Hudson Valley?

I met Sophie when she worked at The Tinsmith in Madison as an event manager. I loved her energy and care she put into her work. To open an email from her with the opportunity to photographer her wedding to Savannah, I was honored.

These two flew me (and my husband!) out to New York to capture their best day with the closest of friends and family. They got ready in the farmhouse, built in 1800 with character to match. Little trinkets scattered throughout the house were the perfect touch. One of my favorite parts of the morning was seeing the two brides get ready with their parents. Sophie’s mom helped her get dressed into her vintage gown, refitted for the day. Savannah’s dad and mom helped her button up and fix her cufflinks.

Once they were ready, we set up their first look in the prairie.

Overlooking the forest on one side and the Hudson Valley on the other, it was a beautiful moment.

Sophie and Savannah’s ceremony in the forest was one of the sweetest I’ve ever witnessed. Their decor was crafted by Sophie’s dad, their officiant was Savannah’s sister, and their closest people stood right next to them as they committed their lives together.

A light rain sprinkled throughout the grounds as these two entered their new chapter.

Everyone huddled under the tent outside the reception barn to enjoy drinks and appetizers. After, everyone gathered in the barn for dinner and speeches. Seeing all their guests huddled over lights surrounded by greenery and colorful florals as the rain pelted down was straight out of a movie.

Simply put, this is one of my absolute favorite weddings I’ve ever had the chance of capturing. It’s not every day you are invited into the love story of such a sweet and genuine couple. To be a witness to their love was such a pleasure.
