Summer Wedding at Atwood Music Hall with Ashley & Tom
What a privilege it was to photograph this Summer wedding at Atwood Music Hall! Ashley and Tom’s celebration perfectly fit the bill for an incredible day in the heart of Madison’s east side.
The morning started out slow and simple at the Moxy Hotel where Ashley got ready with her sisters and nieces. Tom got ready with his family a few floors below. It was so cute watching Ashley’s nieces witness their aunt get ready to marry the love of her life. They even held her hands while her mom buttoned up her dress.
The first look between Ashley and Tom was so special to witness with the Wisconsin State Capitol Building behind them.
Hotel Moxy allows you to rent out two of their suites with access to a private balcony. You can utilize the space for some portraits–or a first look like Ashley and Tom!!
For their portraits, we headed to the Wisconsin State Capitol Building to take advantage of the gorgeous architecture throughout. The Capitol building has the perfect feature of being completely free to photograph in. There is no permit needed, which makes it great for wedding day photos! Especially if the weather is less than ideal.
When first entering the brand new Atwood Music Hall, you’re greeted with a cute entry space.
There’s a curved wooden wall which opens to a art-deco bar, and then the main stage. The uniquely-designed ceiling creates a fun visual element to Madison’s newest event venue.
Ashley and Tom got married on the stage of Atwood Music Hall and pledged their love to one another before celebrating with their 130 closest people! Their walk back down the aisle was gorgeous and it was so fun to see the smiles that lit up their faces!
Their cocktail hour was spaced throughout the building. I witnessed guests reconnect with old friends as well as made new ones. It was so fun to capture everyone’s joy for Ashley and Tom.
Their reception took place on the main floor. Beautiful florals by Daffodil Parker fit the vibe of Atwood Music Hall perfectly. Speeches by their parents were a perfect reflection of the couple. It was so, so obvious how loved these two are!!
It’s always an honor to photograph couples on one of the best days of their lives, but to have a couple as fun as Ashley and Tom with some of the best people surrounding them is even more of an honor.
To freeze moments in time that will be passed down for generations is an incredible gift to give and I’m so privileged to call this my job!
