WISCONSIN CAPITOL ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Where luxury meets simplicity

The Wisconsin State Capitol is one of my most-shot locations – and one of my absolute favorites. I know this building inside out: the best spots, the best light, and exactly how to make the most of your time there and build a wedding around you.

I’m Anya

Let’s make your Wisconsin Capitol Elopement everything you dreamed it could be.

I’m an expert finding the quiet places you can say your vows, have your first dance, and commit your life to your favorite person.

Every step of the way, I’ll be here to help! As someone who eloped, I’m passionate about helping my couples create the perfect intimate day.

Let’s fill your small wedding day with celebrations

I always encourage couples getting married in the Wisconsin State Capitol building to think about the whole experience. The ceremony itself is usually short, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of your celebrations!

You could go for dinner at the Harvey House afterwards with your favourite people around one table or walk to a nearby spot for golden hour photos. I’ll help you decide what’s best, so you get amazing photos and have a blast on your wedding day.

Who this small wedding photography service is for

This is ideal for couples looking to elope or have an intimate day with a few guests at the Wisconsin State Capitol building. Packages start at 2 hours of coverage for $2200 (more info below).

If you’re planning a small wedding at a different venue in Wisconsin, please look at my elopement photography page.

Guiding you through getting married at the Wisconsin State Capitol

When I say I know the building inside out, I really mean it. And I know the details that make a real difference between a slightly chaotic day and one that runs smoothly. I’ll guide you through the important decisions, like:

  • Which ceremony space to use and how to book it
  • Which days to come for the most intimate experience
  • The ideal timeline for portraits, your ceremony, and everything after

The best thing to do is to fill out my inquiry form. We’ll get on a call, and I’ll talk you through everything you need to know.

Showing your relationship as it really is – on both film and digital

I offer digital and film photography for all weddings. Digital gives you clarity and consistency. Every moment sharply captured, exactly as it happened. Film (35mm and medium format) provides a beautiful warmth, grainy quality, and perfectly imperfect feel.

You don’t need to choose between the formats – you get both in your gallery. Together, it’ll be hard to pick your favorite shots!

One honest caveat: film is unpredictable, and that’s part of what makes it special. But when it works, it’s magic. And in my experience, it usually works.

Sharp, bright, and true to the moment

“The film was a pleasant surprise. I maybe like the film more – most of my favorites are the film photos – but it’s nice to have both because they’re a different vibe.”

The film feels like we’re in a movie. It helps to feel like you could just step into that photo and be there. It’s perfectly imperfect.”

Planning a last-minute wedding? I’ve got you!

Due to the nature of the Wisconsin State Capitol building, many couples choose it for a last-minute wedding. I’m set up for exactly that. I’ll help you make your wedding still feel considered and intentional – and give you timeless photos that capture your love!

Get in touch with your date and plans, and I’ll come back to you straight away.

“There’s a photo of one of our grandmothers grabbing our other grandmother’s face and hugging – we weren’t even expecting to have that moment captured. When we saw it, that was everything. I’m obsessed with those photos in particular.

I just can’t get over the photos even today. Almost a year later, we still love our photos just as much as the day we opened our gallery.”

FAQs about my Wisconsin wedding photography service

Absolutely. Ideally, you want another location to carry on the celebrations after an intimate ceremony. It’s when people relax, and you forget about the camera – that’s where the best photos come from! Reach out, and let’s chat about your plans.

A 30% deposit is due on booking to secure your date. Your remaining balance is due one month before your wedding. I’ll send a reminder when it’s coming up so nothing catches you off guard. If you’re planning something last-minute (within 1 month or less), I ask for full payment to secure your date!

We will discuss a “bad weather back-up plan”, and I bring clear umbrellas to every wedding – they’re great for photos. If it’s genuinely throwing everything at us, I’ll have backup locations and indoor options ready. I can’t control the weather, but I can make sure it doesn’t ruin your photos.

Yes – film is included as standard across all my sessions – you don’t need to request it or pay extra. I shoot 35mm and medium format film throughout the day. Film gives your gallery that warm, timeless quality that’s hard to replicate any other way. It’s part of how I work, because I genuinely believe there’s magic in the slightly imperfect photos.

Quite a few! In Madison, I shoot regularly at the Tinsmith, which is one of my favorites – I’m on the preferred vendor list there, so the team and I know each other well. I also work frequently at the Wisconsin State Capitol, which is the home of most of my elopement work. The Goodman Community Center, a brilliant option for couples who want something more affordable without sacrificing atmosphere. And I love the Madison Club – the architecture is stunning!

Beyond those, I’ve shot at converted barns, private estates, university spaces, lakeside venues like Devil’s Lake, and plenty of places that don’t fit neatly into a category – which honestly tends to be where my couples feel most at home anyway.

And if you’ve already got somewhere in mind that I haven’t been to before, that’s not a problem. New venues just mean new corners to find, and it won’t impact your results in any way!

Of course. I’d be happy to share what I know – after 150+ weddings in Wisconsin, I’ve learned a lot about the local area and popular wedding venues. Plus, I have ideas if you want to do things a bit differently!
