Devil’s Lake Engagement Session | Bri & Pat

Bri and Pat knew that they wanted to go to Devil’s Lake for their photos and I was so happy. We planned this session right down to the early summer to see some Lupines too! This Devil’s Lake Engagement Session was one of my favorites from 2022.

Bri knew she wanted wildflowers in her photos and we worked hard to time their session with the lupine bloom at Devil’s Lake! This was something I did a bunch of research on, including a location scout to make sure I knew where to find the blooms!

You can see in the first set of photos the beautiful field where little pockets of purple seep their way through the tall grass. We had perfect weather with a beautiful soft sun and wistful clouds. The first part of their session in these fields with the gorgeous view were some of my personal favorites. I was so happy when they told me they wanted some wide shots!

Next, we went into Devil’s Lake State Park to explore more! I love the South Shore of Devil’s Lake because it has a large parking lot and a beautiful view of the sunset. The sky was a beautiful pink and blue as the sun set below the clouds. It was a stunning sunset and the reflection in the water was great to photograph.

When it got darker, I brought out some headlights for Bri and Pat to bring a sense of exploration and adventure to their engagement session. I really liked the way these turned out with the hazy glow of their lights!!

Bri and Pat’s Devil’s Lake engagement session was super fun and I can’t wait for my next trip there!
