Traditional & Modern Vennebu Hill Wedding

The year of 2022 was filled with over 30 weddings that I photographed and this traditional and modern wedding at Vennebu hill with Michelle and Evan was one of my favorites from the year.

From the first email, I knew that Michelle, Evan and I would be fast friends. Their energetic and easy-going attitude paired with Michelle’s organization was the perfect match for me and I can’t believe I had the opportunity to photograph their amazing day.

To Michelle and Evan a successful event is one where their families and friends are there to celebrate and have the best time. Their wedding was a perfect reflection of the two of them hosting the best party ever.

We started out the day with detail photos of the invitations, jewelry and rings. One of the things I was most excited to see was Michelle’s custom dress by her friend, Mara Marie Bridal. This gorgeous gown they created was a joy to see. It was complete with a hand-embroidered veil with Michelle and Evan’s names and date.

After details, it was time for the couples’ first look and portraits! I set up Michelle’s touching first look with her dad and grandfather. Michelle and Evan’s first look was in front of the beautiful ceremony site with rolling hills in the background.

Their wedding party was gorgeous with striking black suits and mix-matched bridesmaids dresses. Additionally, I loved that they stuck to traditional trends while bringing in a modern look for the bridesmaids. Michelle said that she wanted her ladies to look cohesive while also wearing something they loved. They got to pick each dress themselves!

Their ceremony was gorgeous and overlooked the rolling hills of Sauk County. After they were pronounced husband and wife, flower petals were thrown in the air and their reception (and party!) began!

I knew that their wedding was going to be amazing simply because Michelle and Evan are two of those people who care so much for the ones they love.
