Liz and Greg’s colorful personalities combined with their Northwoods Wisconsin lake wedding was one of my favorite days to capture in 2022.

Liz and Greg’s Northwoods Wisconsin lake wedding started was slow with Liz and her bridesfolk getting ready in one of the cabins at Chippewa Retreat Resort. Her room had a private dock and overlooked the gorgeous lake. I photographed their details and liz told me that her dress was the first one she tried on, no joke. She just knew, ya know? Just like she knew Greg was her person (I’m not crying, you are!).

Their first look was on that very dock. Liz tapped Greg on the shoulder and he turned around and pulled her in for a hug and kiss as the summer breeze made Liz’s dress softly blow in the wind.

We took portraits next to the beautiful lake between tall pine trees. Their ceremony was beautiful and included a special song for their love and a sweet reading for the friends and family that weren’t able to be there.

Cocktail hour was next to the pool with shaded umbrellas to keep the heat at bay, and adorable custom drinks after their pup, Rubee. The reception started with a grand entrance that lead right into Liz and Greg’s first dance.

Their speeches made sure there wasn’t a single dry eye in the house, including mine. I always somehow leave wedding days wishing that I knew more about my couples, as they are clearly so loved by so many. This day was no exception.

Their sunset portraits took place along the lake, on a pier and within the pines. They are some of my favorite portraits with the water gently flowing behind them as the sun turns the sky a soft yellow and the fireflies began to glide around us in the moonlight.
