Wisconsin Northwoods Intimate Elopement | Katie & Matt

A cozy wedding in Wisconsin’s northwoods. What more could you ask for? Katie and Matt’s Wisconsin northwoods intimate elopement took place alongside a river in the heart of the forest with only family in attendance.

When Katie reached out to me about her and Matt’s cozy wedding, I was elated. I have been dying to shoot more in the Wisconsin northwoods and their intimate elopement was a perfect excuse!

We started out the day with their portraits in the forest. They introduced me to their pups and their amazing van which they travel across the country in regularly.

These vegabonds had so many great details for their day. Including lots of food, good beverages and even cigars for everyone to enjoy around a warm campfire after their ceremony.

My favorite moment of their intimate elopement in the Wisconsin northwoods was when their family encouraged them to get into a canoe and float in the river alongside the cabin’s property. The images captured from that moment really showed how couples can make their intimate elopement unique.

After their wedding, Katie and Matt celebrated with their immediate family who were all in attendance for their big day. They sat around the fire and enjoyed conversation and drinks as the sun set gently in the sky and darkness took over.

Katie and Matt’s Wiscosnsin northwoods intimate elopement was the highlight of my 2020 and I’m so happy they asked me to capture their day for them.
