Downtown Madison Engagement Session | Nicole & Kevin

Merchant, Madison’s historic capitol building and Picnic Point provided the perfect backdrop for Nicole and Kevin’s downtown Madison, Wisconsin, engagement session.

Nicole and Kevin were at a wedding I photographed years ago and I was so excited when they asked me to capture their engagement and upcoming wedding!

These two have lived all over the country and have had countless adventures together so it was super special to photograph them in downtown Madison!

We started off their session at Merchant Madison – an upscale restaurant and cocktail-bar combo that recently renovated their inside. I loved their warm booths and fun atmosphere that was perfect for the start of our session together. I always recommend grabbing a drink if you’re not used to being photographed – it’ll help loosen you up!

After they finished their drinks, we walked to the Capitol building. We explored the exterior of the building and embraced the warm summer day. I loved photographing these two and we could have spent their entire session right on that block.

We finished our session at Picnic Point, which has amazing capitol views and access to water, which was perfect for the ending to their session. They popped a bottle of bubbles and took a dip in the water. We were able to create moody water images as the sun set and the clouds rolled in.

Photographing these two for their downtown Madison, Wisconsin, engagement session was so ufn and I loved every moment of it! I can’t wait for their wedding in June!
