Downtown Madison Winter Elopement | Amber & Arturo

When Amber and Arturo first reached out to me, I was so excited! A chance to photograph a winter elopement at Madison’s Capitol building?! What’s better than that!?

After a little bit of stress not being able to find a dress, flowers or a hair and makeup artist, with my help, Amber and Arturo were able to have the perfect day they wanted in the beautiful Madison Capitol.

We started out their elopement experience by taking a few photos outside of the capitol before heading inside to warm up! These two were such great sports and I loved that they were open to any of my ideas!

Once we headed inside, I of course ushered these two up the stairs so we could create some more beautiful portraits! These are seriously some of my favorite photos I’ve ever created in the capitol! I love when couples trust me to be creative and try new things.

Their ceremony was one of my favorites of 2022. It was so sweet and their vows were incredible. To surprise Arturo, Amber wrote her vows in Spanish (his native language!). It was the most beautiful and heartwarming surprises. Totally soul-filling.

We finished off our time in the capitol by taking some group photos, a few details of their rings and some more portraits before heading to Eno Vino, a fine dining restaurant just off the square, where the small group had dinner reservations to celebrate.

Capturing days like these are some of my favorite to capture. There is something so special about two people getting married in an intimate setting where you aren’t doing anything for show or tradition, but instead just for you and your person.
