Top Wedding Venues in Southern Wisconsin

Happy engagement!! There’s so much planning ahead of you, and choosing a wedding venue is one of the first things you’ll do! This blog post of the top wedding venues in Southern Wisconsin will help you find a venue that aligns with the style and vibe that you are envisioning for your day. Venues tend to book up around 12-18 months out for popular weekend dates so make sure you book early.

Barnwood Events

Another popular venue on the rise is Barnwood Events. Located just south of Madison, Wisconsin, Barnwood Events is a modern-built barn with beautiful lighting and space to host a wedding of any size. Surrounded by historic Oak trees and a wispy Willow tree (cue Taylor Swift) Barnwood events is an amazing option for weddings with up to 300 guests!

MILWAUKEE WEDDING VENUES

St. James 1868

Featuring two historic and fully renovated venues, St. James 1868 is an incredible new addition to the Milwaukee wedding scene! Inspired by European elegance, St. James 1868 suits couples who are looking for something a little more historic and traditional with modern vibes. St. James 1868 offers two venues depending on your wedding size.

The Fitzgerald

Another shiny new venue in the Milwaukee wedding scene is The Fitzgerald! With romantic vines, vintage rooms (the wallpaper tho!!!) and stunning architecture, it’s a wonder more don’t snatch this place up! The Fitzgerald does have space limitations for some of the spaces, but it can comfortable hold up to 125 people for a ceremony in their courtyard or 225 people for a reception.

Villa Terrace Museum

A bucket-list location for me, the Villa Terrace Museum is as close to Europe as you can get in Wisconsin. This Mediterranean-inspired venue overlooks Lake Michigan and features an outdoor terrace with a stunning garden. Definitely check out Villa Terrace Museum if you’re looking for something more unique!

The Eloise

Located right outside Madison in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, The Eloise is a gorgeous new event space that has multiple spaces and a modern touch. Sitting on six acres of rolling hills and lush forests, The Eloise is perfect for every moment of your wedding from getting ready to the last dance.

Carriage House at Lac la Belle

I’ve been dying to photograph a wedding at the Carriage House at Lac la Belle since they opened! Their spacious rooms and gorgeous grounds look like the perfect setting for a wedding celebration. I love that they have dedicated outdoor space for guests during cocktail hour! The Carriage House has two venues that can hold up to a max of up to 240 people.

Harvest Moon Pond

Harvest Moon Pond is one of the biggest new venues just north of Madison, Wisconsin. This modern barn venue sits on 18 acres of thick forests, a cascading willow tree and sun-soaked fields. I have a few weddings here in 2023 and I’m so excited to experience this gorgeous venue!

Mercantile Hall

Another hidden gem in Southern Wisconsin’s collection of wedding venues is Mercantile Hall in Burlington. This vintage inspired space hosts a gorgeous outdoor patio area with a large pergola where they host ceremonies and cocktail hours. The indoor space has exposed brick and antique furniture which make great photo backdrops. I love that they prioritize LGBTQ couples on their website and social media! 🏳️‍🌈

The Farm at Dover

The Farm at Dover is one of the coolest venues in Southern Wisconsin. Rustic charm and modern amenities make this venue one to add to your list to see. They also have rooms onsite so you and your party can stay before, during and after your wedding festivities. I’ve been dying to photograph a wedding here.
